Driver Bio – Ian Pearson
Ian made his racing debut in 2012, competing in a Formula Ford 1600 Lotus 61. While his results may not include silverware, Ian is quick to joke that his only victory to date was “the race to the bar” — a sense of humour that perfectly reflects his approach to motorsport.
Ian’s favourite car he has driven is the Marcos 1800GT, which he is racing with Equipe this season. The car’s character, balance, and classic appeal make it a firm favourite and a highlight of his racing experience.
His favourite circuit is Oulton Park, a track he enjoys for its flowing layout, elevation changes, and the challenge it presents to drivers at every level.
When it comes to inspiration, Ian’s racing hero is Callum Grant, whose talent, achievements, and commitment to the sport he greatly admires.
Off the circuit, Ian has very specific tastes — his biscuit of choice is chocolate Digestives, which must be kept in the fridge for maximum enjoyment.
Driver Bio – Callum Grant
Callum’s racing career began at an exceptionally young age, first competing in motocross at just six years old before moving into karting at the age of eleven. His transition to circuit racing came early, and with immediate impact — at just 16 years old, Callum began racing Historic Formula Ford 1600 and won the championship at the first attempt.
Since then, Callum has built an outstanding record across multiple categories. His achievements include winning the Pre-1979 Formula Atlantic Championship and securing the Historic Formula Ford 1600 Championship on two further occasions, cementing his reputation as one of the most accomplished drivers in historic single-seater racing.
Choosing a favourite car is no easy task given the breadth of his experience. For pure racing, Historic Formula Ford 1600 remains unmatched, offering the ultimate test of skill and racecraft. For sheer driving enjoyment, however, Callum points to the unforgettable BRM P201 V12 Formula One car, a machine that delivers both drama and exhilaration.
When it comes to circuits, Callum favours tracks that demand absolute commitment, naming both the Pau Street Circuit and the Assen TT Circuit — venues that reward confidence, precision, and total concentration.
Callum’s racing hero is Sir Jackie Stewart, not only for his success on track but for his lasting impact on motorsport safety. Callum credits Stewart’s influence as a key reason why so many drivers are still able to compete in the sport they love today, and admires the class and professionalism he brings to everything he does.
Away from racing, Callum keeps things refreshingly straightforward — his biscuit of choice is the classic chocolate Bourbon.
