The 2026 Equipe Historic Championship at Oulton Park International Circuit Review
Round 2 of the 2026 Equipe Historic Championship at the wonderful Oulton Park International circuit saw a pole position for Oliver & Nigel Reuben with Brian Caudwell sharing the front row for what would be a short first race after a red flag with six laps completed. At the re-start, the competitors now had a 45-minute race with Nigel Rueben again, heading them away from pole in his TVR Griffith, the Cobra of John Caudwell staying with him with Callum Grant third in his Marcos 1800GT.
With round one winner Brian Caudwell retiring after just a lap it was all to play for, and there was plenty of action behind the top three as John Tordoff exchanged places with the Ford Mustang of David Moran and Alex Read.
Nigel Rueben pitted at the end of lap six to hand over to son Oliver, Grant having already pitted while Caudwell and the Mustang both came in two laps later. Once we had cycled through the stops it was Oliver Rueben ahead from Caudwell, and the Reuben TVR was putting in some consistently quick laps and able to just ease away. Mike Jordan, having taken over the Lotus Elan of Tordoff, running third and heading class two.
The lead trio had a good gap on the rest, who were headed after the stops by the TVR Grantura of Rob Cull, but closing in was the Austrin Healey 3000 of Mike Thorne, these two entertaining before Thorne got past on lap 14.
At the front Oliver Rueben kept clear to take the win and class five honours, Caudwell ten seconds back but well clear of Jordan in third, first class two car home.
Thorne was a strong fourth overall, and having also won class four at the Silverstone opener moved to the top of the points table, Cull right with him at the end and taking maximum class three points in fifth.
We once again have a quick turnaround before Round 3 at the glorious Silverstone Grand Prix circuit on Saturday 2nd May.
The Championship is now really shaping up and we can’t wait to see you all again for the next instalment.
