Driver Bio
Rob’s passion for motorsport began early, with his first car being a 1968 Mini 850, a formative experience that helped shape his love for close, engaging racing. He went on to make his competitive racing debut in 1985, marking the start of a long-standing involvement in the sport.
Over the years, Rob has driven a wide range of race machinery, but his standout favourite remains the iconic Group 2 Zakspeed Escort — a car he admires for its raw performance, character, and unmistakable presence on track.
When it comes to circuits, Nürburgring Nordschleife sits firmly at the top of Rob’s list. Its scale, complexity, and relentless challenge make it a circuit he holds in the highest regard.
Rob draws inspiration from two legendary drivers: Ayrton Senna, for his extraordinary talent and intensity, and Ari Vatanen, whose bravery and versatility across disciplines continue to inspire. Together, they represent the commitment, skill, and fearlessness Rob values most in racing.
Away from the circuit, Rob’s tastes are suitably refined — his biscuit of choice is M&S dark chocolate chunky shortbread rings, the perfect accompaniment to a post-session cup of tea.
